How It Works?
ReportNow! extracts data from your
organization’s Internet log file(s). A log file is a file which store
information gathered from the organization’s Internet proxy, email and
anti-virus software. The log file records all transaction that passes through
these software. The degree of detail records
contained in the log file record depends on what software is being used such as
ProxyNow!, MS Proxy Server®, WinGate®, MailNow!, ProtectNow! or Astaro Firewall.
If you are the network
administrator, you can select and customize the kind of information which you
wish to track in the logs. By its nature, log files just record information, it
does not group or sort or prepare graphs, it just “logs” the information in a
file).Proxy software like ProxyNow! is
popular because it allows services like Internet access and emails, to be
shared by multiple users over a single Internet access point. However, such
resource sharing technology also means that an organization may find it
difficult to track and monitor usage among its many users.
As all proxy software generates
logs, ReportNow! is engineered to seize the heart of those logs and make sense
of the log’s voluminous data. ReportNow! is able to extract the necessary
information, presents it in a user-friendly report and display data that can be
sorted, filtered and even made into graphs all via an easy to use
point-and-click interface.
